Learn About Great Weekend Reads in AI & Machine Learning

For avid readers, the Internet has been a huge blessing. Every day, literally millions of new words pour forth–from powerful long-form articles to academic journals and more. There’s just one problem–there’s too much.

It’s impossible for a single person to find everything they’d want to read on a regular basis. Many tech companies (think Flipboard, Google and Pocket) have turned to algorithms to help curate the Internet’s bounty. We love those services, but we’re firm believers in human curation. Call us old school, but a recommendation from a trusted colleague or relative carries more weight with us than formulaic recommendations built from code and your personal information.

That’s why we created Great Weekend Reads in AI & Machine Learning.

Every Friday, we’ll publish a list of great articles from around the Web focused on developments in artificial intelligence. We aim to present a  cross-section of in-depth pieces and news. While we’ll prioritize longer-form pieces, we’re not setting any artificial (get it?) limits on how many words it takes to be thought provoking or intellectually nourishing.

Our curated list will be published on Friday, but during the week we’ll also publish a selection of engaging articles from partner publications like The Conversation and Aeon, among others. If things progress as we hope, we’ll look to fill out the week with an original podcast and more.

If you have any questions, suggestions or anything else you’d like to chat about, feel free to contact us here.

About Your Curator

Greg Scoblete (@GregScoblete)  is the founder of Great Weekend Reads in AI & Machine Learning. He’s been an editor and writer for the past 20 years, largely covering technology and photography. He worked for several years at RealClearPolitics, one of the premier human-aggregation websites, where he woke up 4 a.m. every day to scour the web for important news stories and op-eds. While he learned a lot, he’s grateful that he no longer has to rouse himself at 4 a.m.
